Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Collaborating Physician, you will play a key role in supporting nurse practitioners and physician assistants to manage patients in Skilled Nursing Facilities. Your expertise will help ensure that every patient receives high-quality care in line with HIPAA regulations and Alabama state laws. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated healthcare team, making a real impact on patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Support: Oversee and guide wound care assessments and treatment plans developed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants, ensuring optimal patient healing and care.

Patient Care Plans: Review and provide feedback on patient care plans, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and support effective wound management practices.

Telehealth Consultations: Conduct virtual consultations when needed, offering expert guidance to healthcare staff and patients on wound care strategies and treatments.

Collaboration & Innovation: Work with the team to share insights and best practices in wound care management, including the latest advancements in treatments such as grafting techniques.

Communication: Ensure clear and timely communication with the care team regarding patient progress, treatment adjustments, and any necessary changes to care plans.

Compliance & Confidentiality: Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure all practices comply with applicable state regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

Licensure: Active MD license in Alabama (required).

Experience: Background in geriatrics, primary care, emergency medicine, hospitalist, general surgery, or a related field is highly desirable.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of chronic wound management and the regulatory framework for collaborating physicians in Alabama.

Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Independence: Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
