Behavior Technician

Job Description: Provides adaptive behavior treatment directly to client. Treatment includes behavior modification treatment as well as providing training to client in communication, social, and adaptive skills.

Responsibilities:

· Implement behavior modification and skill acquisition programs, as directed by BCBA

· Collect data on above programs

· Record session notes detailing treatment

· Report successes, challenges, and questions to supervising BCBA

· File medical and crisis incident reports

Qualifications:

· Ability to read and write English

· High school diploma and one ABA-related course (e.g. RBT training) (recommended)

· Experience in education or autism-related field (recommended)

· Ability to work hands-on with children

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

· Knowledgeable about basic ABA terms (training may be provided)

· Knowledgeable about data collection software (training may be provided)

· Works collaboratively with coworkers and clients’ families

· Follows supervisor directions and treatment plan, and asks questions when needed

· Patient and compassionate, especially while working with clients exhibiting challenging behaviors

· Goal-oriented and organized

· Consistent and reliable

· Acts professionally in a variety of environments

· Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and the needs of the client
