Summary As an Assistant Designer at SKIMS, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Intimates design team in creating stunning and innovative apparel. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with our design experts and gain valuable experience in the fashion industry. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as product development, production, and marketing to ensure that all products align with our brand aesthetic, quality standards and timelines. You will be responsible for researching trends, sourcing fabrics and trims, assisting with fittings, creating tech packs and communicating with overseas vendors.   • Assist in creating design concepts, sketches and layouts for various SKIMS products.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create detailed technical drawings and specifications for production.
  • Research and stay up-to-date on industry trends, fabrics and technologies relevant to the SKIMS brand
  • Assist in sourcing materials and trims necessary for product development.
  • Participate in fittings and communicate changes needed to improve fit and function of SKIMS products.
  • Maintain accurate records of all design projects, including notes, swatches and samples.
  • Prepare presentations and assist in communicating design ideas to management and cross-functional teams.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining design studio and sample room.
  • Computer based work positions, no cutting, production sewing or assembling of product.
Requirements
  • You should have a strong understanding of design principles relating to intimates and be able to apply them in various mediums.
  • A BA in a fashion related subject.
  • You must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • We expect you to be able to take direction from senior designers and collaborate effectively with other members of the team.
  • You should have experience creating designs for print and digital media.
  • We require excellent time management skills to meet deadlines while also maintaining high-quality work.
  • You must be able to adapt to feedback and make necessary revisions to your designs.
  • We value creativity and innovation, so we are looking for someone who is not afraid to suggest new ideas or bring their unique vision to projects.
  • You should have excellent communication skills to articulate your design decisions and provide clear explanations to others.
