Summary:

Putzmeister is seeking a highly skilled Operations Specialist 3D Concrete Printing with extensive hands-on experience in concrete pumping using boom trucks. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our 3D printing machinery, ensuring high performance, and implementing improvements. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the equipment’s performance, including repairs and enhancements, and will be a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate 3D Printing Machinery: Manage and operate 3D printing equipment for construction projects, including site planning ensuring efficient and high-quality execution.
  • Machine Maintenance & Repairs: Take full ownership of the 3D printing machinery, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, manages & plans parts inventory and overseeing repairs to maintain peak performance.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the operation and maintenance of 3D printing equipment, ensuring consistent quality and reliability.
  • Customer Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with customers regarding project status, equipment performance, and quality assurance.
  • Performance Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to enhance machine performance and efficiency, based on hands-on experience and feedback.
  • Training: Provide training to customers and team members on the proper operation and maintenance of 3D printing machinery.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.

Qualifications:

  • Concrete Pumping Experience: Extensive on-the-job experience with concrete boom trucks is required. This experience is crucial for understanding the technical aspects of operating and maintaining similar equipment.
  • Technical Expertise: 5-10 years of relevant technical experience, with a strong background in mobile hydraulic, electrical, software, and mechanical systems.
  • Equipment Ownership: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of equipment performance, including repairs, maintenance performance improvements as well as continuous improvement mindset.
  • High Travel Willingness: Willingness to travel frequently for printing projects (~ 50% of the time).
  • Self-Motivated & Hands-On: Must be highly independent with intrinsic motivation to succeed, self-motivated, and proactive in solving problems and managing equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers, other departments like the headquarter in Germany and detailed documentation of procedures.

Education/Certification/Training:

  • Degree: Associate or BS degree in Engineering, Heavy Equipment Technology, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Existing CDL is a plus
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the construction or concrete industry is highly preferred.
  • Safety Training: Completion of mandatory safety training (see “Total Compliance Management” program) and on-the-job training.
  • Languages: Multilingual abilities (Spanish and/or German) are a plus.
