Introduction:
We are a growing logistics company seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will focus on building strong relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, potential customers, and freight brokers to secure dedicated lane contracts for our fleet. If you have experience in logistics sales, a deep understanding of 3PL operations, and a passion for driving business growth, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and target potential customers, brokers, and 3PL providers to generate new business opportunities for dedicated lane contracts.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the logistics and transportation industry.
• Develop tailored proposals and pitch solutions to meet the specific needs of potential clients, focusing on dedicated lanes for our fleet.
• Negotiate terms and close deals, ensuring contracts are aligned with company goals and profitability targets.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, including operations and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of contracts once secured.
• Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
• Provide regular reports on business development efforts, lead generation, and pipeline status.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand the company’s network and generate leads.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in business development or sales within the logistics, transportation, or 3PL industry (3-5 years preferred).
• Strong understanding of dedicated lane contracts and the logistics needs of 3PL providers and freight brokers.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and secure new business opportunities, build relationships, and close deals.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently to achieve sales targets.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Existing network of contacts within the 3PL, logistics, or freight brokerage industries.
• Experience working with dedicated lane contracts or fleet management solutions.
• Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and supply chain software.
