JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Chef de Cuisine to lead our culinary team for an exciting new restaurant opening in Yountville. This is an exceptional opportunity for a rising star in the culinary world to showcase their talent, creativity, and leadership skills. As the Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for developing and executing a cutting-edge menu that reflects the vibrant and sophisticated culinary scene of Yountville. You will lead a team of passionate chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring the highest standards of quality and excellence in every dish.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, test, and refine an innovative menu that aligns with the restaurant’s concept, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
  • Introduce unique dishes that push the boundaries of culinary creativity while maintaining a focus on quality and flavor.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a new kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Experiment with new techniques, presentations, and flavors to create a memorable dining experience that stands out in Yountville’s culinary landscape.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, organization, and adherence to all health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure smooth service.
  • Conduct regular tastings and inspections to ensure every dish meets the restaurant’s exacting standards.
  • Work closely with restaurant management to align the culinary vision with the overall restaurant concept; collaborate on special events, menu changes, and other culinary initiatives.
  • Engage with guests to gather feedback and ensure their dining experience exceeds expectations.
  • Assist in managing the kitchen budget, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability while maintaining the highest standards of food quality.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a high-end restaurant.
  • Strong culinary expertise with a passion for innovation and creativity.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a culinary team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of current culinary trends and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
