Position: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) - CGMBS We are seeking a Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist (CGMBS) to perform molecular genetic testing at our laboratory in Monrovia, California. Reporting to the General Supervisor - Molecular Genetics, the CGMBS will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory procedures, including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, sequencing, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical laboratory operations, molecular genetics techniques, and NGS (next-generation sequencing) technologies. Required Qualifications: Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) Regulation - The Clinical Lab Scientist must meet the CLIA requirements set forth in 42CFR Sec. 493.1489 for a High Complexity Testing Lab. Required Licensure: The Clinical Laboratory Scientist must be licensed by the State of California as a generalist or have limited licensures in specialties of tests performed. Responsibilities Following the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results. Maintaining records which demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. Adhering to the laboratory's Quality Control policies and documenting all Quality Control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and instrument maintenance. Following the laboratory's policies, including taking and documenting corrective actions, whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance. Being able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or test result reporting and correcting the problem or notifying the appropriate supervisor. Documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications. If required by route of qualification, performing high complexity testing only under the on-site direct supervision of a General Supervisor. Perform laboratory procedures for genetic testing, including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, sequencing, and data analysis Perform quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable results Participate in the development and validation of new genetic tests and methodologies Participate in laboratory meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities to maintain up-to-date knowledge of genetic testing technologies and practices Perform other duties as assigned. What we are looking for.....
