Job Description

The Wesson Group, LLC., is expanding and looking for an addition to our tight-knit team. We are a general contractor headquartered in Johnstown, NY, with a primary focus on renewable energy and civil infrastructure projects throughout Western, Central, and Northern NY. We are currently seeking a Superintendent with a background in concrete/foundations and self-performed heavy and highway construction to join our family of dedicated and hard-working professionals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Follows and ensures company compliance with TWG Health and Safety Plan
• Manage and plan work with the Construction Manager and Foreman.
• Coordinate and communicate crew material needs to project engineers to ensure timely delivery.
• Daily Plan of the Day (POD) reporting to the field office
• Plan the work—Make sure all required tools, materials, manpower, etc. are lined up to support the work schedule.
• Coordinate with other Superintendents as required.
• Responsibility for environmental control implementation
• Attend weekly progress and scheduling meetings.
• Provide field-level input into schedule updates and a three-week look ahead.
• Completion of timesheets for craft labor; manage and ensure accurate reporting and input of hours into appropriate time tracking application.
• Coordinate hiring needs with the Construction Manager and respective local unions.
• Understand expected productions and monitor progress daily. Work with the Project Team to review cost reports regularly and adjust work to correct overruns.
• Active participation within the QA/QC process.
• Ensure that third-party inspection reports are completed and submitted daily or as owners and TWG policy require.
• Manage all aspects of the laydown yards to ensure smooth daily operations.

Skills and Qualifications

• Wind farm foundation experience and/or mass concrete pour experience is preferred.
• Should be well versed in ASI/ASTM Standards.
• Preferably will have experience in concrete mix designs.
• Have a winning attitude, a positive problem-solving approach and works well in a team environment.
• Ability to supervise and lead a construction team toward a successful project completion.
• Be organized with proficient time management skills.
• The ability to create, maintain, and manage critical path schedules.
• Resourcefulness and creativity.
• A construction management or civil engineering degree and 4-7 years of experience in heavy civil, highway, bridge/structures, and/or utility infrastructure are preferred.
• Three positive client or employer references from whom you’ve worked in the last 5 years.
• OSHA 30 Certificate and related training
