Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Amazon internships are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as class or other employment during the Amazon work day.

Amazon MGM Studios is seeking bright, multitasking, and dynamic self-motivated interns to support the Animation and Creative Original Movies teams. Interns will gain hands-on experience working with the studio behind break-out movies such as; Saltburn, Air, The Idea of You, American Fiction, Challengers, and Red One, to name a few. In addition to working closely with executives, interns have the opportunity to participate in guest speaker sessions, networking events, and screenings.

Creative Development Intern, Animation: Our Primetime/Adult Animation team oversees all creative aspects of original animated programming at Amazon MGM Studios. Our series engage young adult animation fans across several genres, ranging from fantasy to comedy. On the animation slate, our division helms titles such as Invincible, Hazbin Hotel, Batman: Caped Crusader, Secret Level, and The Legend of Vox Machina. The intern will develop and deliver thoughtful, strategy-forward evaluations for our incoming submissions and our internal projects. Through these projects, the intern will learn the animation pipeline, the invaluable skill of script analysis, and collaborating inter-departmentally. They will also get firsthand experience in administrative and coordination tasks for a creative team.

The intern will develop and deliver engaging, customer-friendly evaluations and writer lists for a specific animated series premise. Through these projects, the intern will learn the invaluable skills of script analysis, building a creative team, and pitching. The intern will gain an awareness of all the responsibilities producers and creative executives have in Animated Series. The Animation team will have much needed writer data and a strong understanding of the student’s creative conviction and potential as a future television creator.

Creative Development Intern, Original Movies: The intern supporting the Creative Original Movies team will help launch the story department. With this project, the intern will work closely with the team to catalog and manage project drafts, which will expose them to the creative process, reading scripts, learning how to write coverage, compare drafts and an important overview of our movies slate. This project will be an essential cornerstone to the building of the team’s internal project library. The deliverable will be a complete list and collection of all drafts for a set number of priority projects including analysis of genre and slate make up.
