Job Description

The Democratic Attorneys General Association provides political and policy support to Democratic State Attorneys General in their mission to protect citizens, promote progress, and support civil rights.

DAGA is seeking energetic and hard-working students to join our internship program. This internship opportunity with DAGA is a one-of-a-kind Washington, DC experience that helps students learn more about the American political process. The term will begin in early June and end in mid-August (start and end dates are flexible depending on student availability). This is a non-employment internship opportunity. Internships are part-time and unpaid, though DAGA can sign off on credit/service hours. Interns are offered flexible work schedules and hours are capped at 20 hours a week. Interns will receive a $250/week stipend to offset transportation and living costs. This internship is available for both remote and in-person participation.

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • This is a fast-paced and fast-changing work environment. The ability to organize and handle multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines is required
  • Able to interact with individuals at many levels and handle confidential matters
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong research and computer skills (MS Office, etc.) required
  • Humor, initiative, and openness to evolving responsibilities
Video and Design Production Additional Required Qualifications
  • Basic experience/understanding of Sony cameras (A7S, FS5, FX9)
  • Intermediate video editing skills (Premiere Pro)
  • Basic After Effects skills
  • Basic experience/understanding of audio mixing and color correction
  • Experience with Photoshop a plus
  • Strong sense of storytelling
  • Strong visual and design sense
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
Responsibilities
  • Assist with video shoots, including setting up lights, operating camera, and audio monitoring
  • Upload, sort, tag and edit raw video footage, including color correction and sound mixing
  • Create short video packages utilizing footage and basic animation
  • Transcribe interviews and caption videos
  • Write scripts
  • Create basic graphics for use in video packages
