Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Food Scientist to drive innovation, renovation, and optimization within our retail and food service division. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards while aligning with consumer trends. Responsibilities include developing culinary prototypes, formulating new products, ensuring food safety and quality, optimizing processes, and improving cost efficiency. A passion for the food industry, strong knowledge of market trends, and a creative mindset are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Lead technical projects from concept to commercialization, conducting plant tests, analyzing data, and documenting results.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop new product concepts and guide them through the entire NPD process, from ideation to launch.
  • Identify and integrate emerging culinary trends into product development.
  • Partner with plant operations and FSQA teams to enhance existing product lines.
  • Develop new SKUs utilizing established formulas and processing methods as a foundation.
  • Work with operations and finance teams to identify opportunities for improving formulation, raw material processing, cooking programs, and packaging processes to enhance revenue and margin growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in food product development.
  • Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and the relationship between formula and process.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to align development work with company objectives.
  • Experience coaching and training staff in new processes.
