Position Overview:
We are thrilled to invite an enthusiastic Entry-Level GIS Technician to join our team! In this role, you will support our land acquisition projects across the United States through geospatial analysis. If you have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication abilities, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Gather, validate, and analyze utility distribution data to ensure accuracy and relevance for informed decision-making.
Collect and process geographic data from various sources, including satellite imagery, topographic maps, and existing utility networks, to conduct comprehensive spatial analyses.
Identify and evaluate potential solar development sites using advanced suitability analysis techniques, considering land use, environmental impact, and accessibility to existing infrastructure.
Maintain up-to-date databases that reflect our prospects, areas of interest, and utility connections, ensuring all information is easily accessible to the team.
Collaborate with team members to clarify specific data needs, outline project requirements, and align on desired outcomes, ensuring everyone is on track to meet our goals.
Work together to enhance database design, improve prospecting processes, and streamline workflows, focusing on increasing efficiency and productivity.
Prepare detailed documents for landowner outreach campaigns, ensuring all communications are clear, professional, and foster positive engagement.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
GIS Certification from an accredited institution is a plus.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro 2.x is essential; prior work experience is not required.
Familiarity with ArcGIS Online, QGIS, and MS Office is a plus.
Ability to understand and follow written and spoken instructions with thoughtfulness and clarity.
A resourceful, self-motivated, and detail-oriented attitude is key to success in this role.
