The Instructional Coach will focus on science within the Skyrocket Curriculum department. Their primary role will involve actively contributing to curriculum development, providing continuous training and support to our team of writers, and facilitating training sessions and feedback sessions with our valued clients.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:*- Contribute to the ongoing development and pedagogy of Skyrocket curriculum by working directly with science content, contracted writers, and curriculum staff.
- Give regular feedback on science development projects, up to and including direct feedback to developers and contractors on a consistent basis.
- Aid in the pursuit of academic consistency and scaffolding across disciplines that includes standards-based instruction, assessment, and feedback.
- Help to ensure the integrity and fidelity of all Skyrocket curriculum.
- Facilitate the usage of advanced features of integrated technology as needed.
- Assist clients with understanding the needs of their sites including, but not limited to, assessment, lab safety, writing, and training.
- Work with Skyrocket leadership teams to identify instructional and training needs.
- Participate in, and sometimes lead, curricular and product training for clients.
- Research and pursue external knowledge and practice in an effort to bolster innovative curricular offerings for clients.
- Research and pursue external knowledge and practice in an effort to foster instructional, curricular, and be an organizational expert in designated content areas.
- Assist with development of elective or state educational code projects as needed.
- Perform other functions and duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: - Comprehensive knowledge of instructional design, curriculum trends, Next Gen Science standards, and curriculum design methods for digital and paper-based curriculum.
- Comprehensive knowledge of assessment types and their appropriate uses and functions.
- Ability to analyze data appropriately.
- Ability to independently take initiative and work efficiently, exercising reasonable judgment in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
- Strong written, presentation and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Google Suite, LLMs, and LMS programs and the ability to use technology effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem-solving skills, while maintaining diplomacy, courtesy, professionalism, and a customer service attitude.
- Superior knowledge of company curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Ability to train and support clients.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Education and Experience: - Possession of a California Teaching Credential required; science subject(s) preferred.
- 3+ years of teaching experience at the middle school or high school levels in the sciences field.
