Job Description

North Bend Central Public Schools, located in North Bend, NE, is seeking a  K-12 Interventionist and Instructional Coach for the 2025-2026 school year.  North Bend Central is an AQuESTT classified Excellent school district, located just 45 minutes from Omaha and Lincoln.  We have a PreK-12 enrollment of 600 students.  NBC has outstanding facilities and excellent community and school board support.

Job Title:   K-12 Interventionist and Instructional Coach
Department:   Instruction
Education Level and Certification:   Bachelor’s degree required. Must possess at all times during employment a Nebraska Teaching Certificate with such endorsements as required by NDE Rule 10.

-Performance Responsibilities

Position Summary: This dynamic role combines the expertise of a Behavior and Learning Interventionist with the collaborative support of an Instructional Coach. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing student success by providing direct support to students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges while simultaneously coaching teachers on effective instructional practices and data-driven decision making.

-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Behavior and Learning Interventionist:

  • Direct Student Support:
    • Provide individual and small group interventions for students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
    • Implement behavior support plans, including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), functional behavior assessments (FBAs), behavior intervention plans (BIP), and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS).
    • Conduct social skills training, anger management, and conflict resolution strategies.
    • Provide emotional support and counseling to students.
    • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Indirect Student Support:
    • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement classroom management strategies.
    • Consult with teachers on effective classroom behavior management techniques.
    • Provide professional development to staff on topics related to social-emotional learning, behavior management, and trauma-informed care.
    • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the IEP team to develop appropriate supports for students with disabilities.
  • Family Engagement:
    • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and concerns.
    • Provide resources and support to families regarding social-emotional learning at home.
    • Conduct family training workshops on relevant topics.
  • School-Wide Initiatives:
    • Participate in school-wide initiatives related to PBIS, social-emotional learning, and school climate.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide behavior expectations and interventions.
    • Serve as a resource for staff and families on issues related to student behavior and mental health.

Instructional Coach:

  • Instructional Support:
    • Observe and analyze classroom instruction to identify areas of strength and areas for growth.
    • Provide coaching and feedback to teachers on instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction, effective questioning techniques, and the use of technology in the classroom.
    • Model effective instructional practices for teachers.
    • Support teachers in the development and implementation of effective lesson plans and assessments.
  • Data Analysis and Use:
    • Guide teachers in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting student data (e.g., formative assessments, classroom observations, student work samples).
    • Help teachers use data to inform instructional decisions and differentiate instruction.
    • Support the development and implementation of school-wide data analysis processes.
  • Professional Development:
    • Plan and facilitate professional development workshops for teachers on topics related to instruction, assessment, and student learning.
    • Stay current on best practices in education and share this knowledge with teachers.
    • Build a collaborative learning community among teachers.
