Job Description

Summary of Position:

The Maintenance Supervisor manages all phases of manufacturing, processing, and packaging machinery, inclusive of facility building maintenance personnel and day-to-day manufacturing operations, to ensure equipment is maintained and repaired cost-efficiently.

Shift Hours: 4pm-3am with weekend availability.

Functions of the Position:

• Manages all phases of processing, packaging, and facility equipment and staff (technicians, fabricators, and building maintenance personnel), including hiring, daily supervision, training, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
• Prepares work, maintenance, and staffing schedules, assigns work appropriately, and ensures services are performed to meet manufacturing and facility needs.
• Plans, manages, and reviews the computer maintenance management system (CMMS) for preventive maintenance and repair schedules.
• Makes recommendations to improve efficiencies and reduce downtime, labor, and overtime expenses.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA and safety regulations. Trains staff in safety as necessary.
• Assists in additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
• Manages equipment purchasing and contract services as necessary. Works with the purchasing department on negotiation and any contract work as needed.
• Monitors costs and yearly budget.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:

• 5+ years of experience in maintenance and staff management in the food industry preferred.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, machine building, PLCs, and community codes.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in computer maintenance management systems (CMMS)/planning, AutoCAD software, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work from extended heights.
