Job Summary:

Medical Assistant must be motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive manner. Must have the ability to communicate and work with a diverse population. Maintain patient records, prepare examination rooms before physicians or nurses need them, assist with exams, complete assignments such as blood drawing, coding administering medications and taking.

Task Responsibilities:

*Include but are not limited to:

· Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.

· Greet and check in in patients arriving at the clinic. Prepare patients to be seen by provider.

· Prepare treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.

· Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.

· Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.

· Prepare and administer medications for patients as directed by provider.

· Run P.O.C. tests as requested by the provider and collect and prepare lab specimens.

· Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.

Requirements:

Required:

  • HS Diploma or GED and completion of a certified medical assistant program, Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
  • Minimum of 1 year of EPIC experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Data coding experience
