Job Description:  We are seeking a detail-oriented Full-Time Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The role will require 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare billing, insurance verification, and payment processing, with the flexibility and initiative to adapt to evolving business needs. This position offers a hybrid schedule, allowing for both on-site and remote work.

Key Responsibilities

Payment Processing:

• Process private payments and copays accurately and efficiently.
• Record and reconcile payments in the billing system.

Super Bill Creation:

• Generate and distribute super bills to ensure accurate charge capture.
• Work closely with providers to verify billing codes and documentation.

Insurance Verification:

• Conduct intense insurance verifications prior to patient treatment start dates.
• Communicate with insurance carriers to confirm benefit eligibility, coverage limits, and patient responsibilities.

Authorizations Management:

• Confirm and upload authorizations in a timely manner to maintain compliance.
• Track authorization status and follow up with insurance carriers as needed.

Insurance Card Updates:

• Update and maintain patient insurance card information in Elation or relevant EHR/EMR system.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient insurance details.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
• Medical Billing degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or related healthcare administration.

Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with medical billing software and EMR systems (experience with Elation or similar platforms preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and able to learn new technologies and software quickly (Insurance Portal).

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to handle confidential information responsibly.
• Flexibility in adapting to changing workloads and priorities.

Working Conditions & Schedule

• Hours: 40 hours per week.
• Hybrid Environment: Combination of remote work and on-site requirements in Sunnyvale, CA.
