JOB TITLE : NYCFC II Goalkeeper Coach

DEPARTMENT : Sporting

LOCATION : City Football Academy; Orangeburg, New York

POSITION OVERVIEW:

New York City FC II is seeking a dedicated and experienced Goalkeeper Coach to join our technical staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, executing and monitoring the goalkeeper training program for NYCFC II, ensuring alignment with the overarching philosophy and playing style of NYCFC and City Football Group. This role will play a pivotal part in the development of goalkeepers within the club's professional pathway, fostering their technical, tactical, physical, and mental growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Training and Development

• Design, plan, and execute goalkeeper-specific training sessions to enhance technical and tactical performance.
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of all NYCFC II goalkeepers, providing detailed feedback and analysis.
• Align goalkeeper training sessions with the playing style and principles of NYCFC.
• Utilize video analysis and modern coaching tools to enhance goalkeeper performance.

Matchday Responsibilities

• Prepare NYCFC II goalkeepers for matchday, focusing on scouting opponent tendencies and reinforcing team strategies.
• Support the head coach and technical staff in match preparation, including warm-ups and pre-game strategies for goalkeepers.
• Provide in-game observations and adjustments to ensure goalkeeper effectiveness.

Collaboration and Integration

• Work closely with the NYCFC first team goalkeeper coach & academy goalkeeper coaches to ensure continuity and alignment in goalkeeper development.
• Collaborate with the strength and conditioning team to design fitness programs tailored to goalkeeper needs.
• Coordinate with sports scientists and medical staff on load management and injury prevention.

Player Development Pathway

• Actively scout and evaluate potential goalkeepers for the NYCFC Academy and NYCFC II.
• Support the integration of academy goalkeepers into NYCFC II training and matchday environments.
• Mentor young goalkeepers, emphasizing holistic development on and off the field.

Administration and Reporting

• Maintain detailed records of goalkeeper performance, training attendance, and progress.
• Provide regular reports to the NYCFC II head coach and technical director.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and other events as required by the club.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Proven experience as a goalkeeper coach at the professional, collegiate, or elite youth level.
• Hold a relevant coaching license (e.g., UEFA B License, USSF B License, or equivalent). A goalkeeper-specific coaching license is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of modern goalkeeper techniques, tactics, and performance analysis tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively with players, staff, and other stakeholders.
• Passionate about player development with a commitment to NYCFC's values and philosophy.
• Proficient in video analysis software and other coaching technologies.Experience working in a professional soccer environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish or another language relevant to the team’s diverse environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Compliance with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policies and any other applicable child safety guidelines.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required for professional sports team operations.

COMPENSATION:

This exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $70,000-$90,000 and is not overtime eligible. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise.
