Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team based in Jamaica, NY! This role is a contract-to-hire, full-time position with a flexible work arrangement: four days in-office and one day remote. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Who You Are: You're a proactive, skilled paralegal with a background in labor and employment law, dedicated to delivering high-quality legal support in a collaborative environment. You have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to ensuring legal compliance and supporting team goals.

What You'll Bring:

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Paralegal Studies.
Professional Experience: At least five years of paralegal experience, with a minimum of three years in labor and employment law.
Legal Expertise: Ability to draft contracts and legal correspondence; experience with legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis).
Analytical Skills: Skilled in interpreting case law and contract provisions as needed.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with labor unions and related laws and regulations.
Communication & Organization: Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional demeanor, and excellent time management. Flexibility to work outside standard hours occasionally is a plus.

What You'll Do:

Legal Document Preparation: Draft, edit, and proofread collective bargaining agreements and other key documents.
Research: Conduct legal research to support In-House Counsel and other team members.
Compliance: Stay updated on new laws and regulations to help ensure compliance across the organization.
Correspondence: Draft and revise written communications for various internal and external stakeholders.
Case Management: File arbitrations, charges, and petitions accurately and promptly, and lead follow-up efforts.
Collaborative Projects: Contribute to additional departmental tasks and special projects as needed.
