Apply today! Responsibilities: - Deliver peer support services to consumers in program settings, the community, as directed by the supervisor.
- Assist consumers in managing their recovery by helping to identify goals, overcome barriers, and develop strategies to achieve success.
- Support consumers in identifying natural supports and community resources, while educating them on how to utilize these in their recovery journey.
- Advocate for consumers and the recovery model by contributing to staff and treatment team meetings, ensuring the consumer’s perspective and goals are represented.
- Accompany consumers to community support meetings or events when appropriate and provide follow-up support through one-on-one interactions, phone calls, or mobile visits.
- Maintain professional boundaries in alignment with peer orientation training guidelines.
- Monitor progress toward recovery goals and provide constructive feedback to consumers, family members, and clinical staff as needed.
- Apply knowledge of tools such as the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), Personal Medicine, and Mental Health Advanced Directives, while sharing personal recovery experiences when appropriate.
- Teach problem-solving and social skills to consumers through role modeling, coaching, and skill-building activities in areas such as money management, transportation, and time management.
- Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, as directed by the supervisor.
- Demonstrate system-wide competencies and behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- 2 years of solid work experience preferred strongly preferred
- Willing to obtain a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) New York Certification within 1 year of hire.
(CRPA certification costs will be fully covered for the selected candidate)
- Certification as a Peer or Recovery Specialist preferred
- Lived experience with substance use, progressed in recovery, and open to sharing to support others.
- Ability to advocate for peer support as a non-clinical recovery service.
- Basic computer skills
