The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Practice Manager will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of Pediatric Cardiology practice, while ensuring the efficiency and stability of the clinical operations, inclusive of quality, access and value. Leads, supervises and coordinates operational and administrative functions to ensure maximum efficiency, high quality patient experiences, and compliance with appropriate CUIMC HR and regulatory policies. Leads the practice in a manner that delivers an exceptional patient experience that contributes to a positive health outcome for patients and a work culture of kindness, inclusion, integrity, accountability, and excellence. This position reports to the Division Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the clinical operations for the division including but not limited to daily schedules, room allocation, staff allocation, coverage planning, prompt to response to patient and physician inquiries.
  • Creates and maintains a strong and supportive team of staff that are patient focused; leads by example in providing support and encouragement to staff.
  • Maintains and orders clinical supplies as needed for the division's specialties. Ensures all clinical and administrative areas are stocked appropriately and consistently.
  • Oversight of al EMR requirements such as pre-load, timely documentation by physicians, accurate revenue cycle processes, front/back end charge entry and coding.
  • Ensure adequate coverage provided in each clinical/administrative area on a daily basis.
  • Direct supervision of all front end staff, medical secretaries, and clinical support staff. This includes working closely with the DA and Department HR in performing all HR functions such as hiring, training, supervising, disciplinary actions, and performance appraisals.
  • Participates in ongoing access projects including decreasing patient wait times, maximizing physician daily schedules, use of telemedicine and other projects as needed.
  • Responsible for approving time off from the clinical admin staff and submitting timesheets on a timely basis to HR.
  • Provides clinical coverage for other Practice or Site Managers when needed.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor???s degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus four years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in business or health administration-related field preferred.
  • EPIC (EMR) experience a plus.

Other Requirements

  • Familiarity with ambulatory practice and including medical billing/insurance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.  This position requires the ability to interact positively, constructively and effectively with professional staff, providers and organizational stakeholders.  
  • Must be able to create and deliver high level communication presentations for senior leadership and other organizational stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and mentor team through new and changing situations.  Demonstrate a professional and compassionate manner while conveying a positive image of the practice.
  • Ability to work independently and follow-through and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a culturally diverse staff and patient/family population demonstrating tact and sensitivity in stressful situations.
  • Strong proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) is required and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs.
  • Must be a motivated individual with a positive mindset and exceptional work ethic.
