Professional CDL Chauffeur Job Description
A Professional CDL Chauffeur, or Commercial Driver's License Chauffeur at Triangle Corporate Coach, is responsible for transporting passengers safely and efficiently using a commercial vehicle, i.e., shuttle/coach bus, car, SUV, or limousine. Their job description typically includes the following:
Operating a commercial vehicle, such as a bus, limousine, or van, to transport passengers from one location to another. This includes adhering to traffic laws, maintaining safety protocols, and ensuring passenger comfort.
Determining the best routes to reach destinations in a timely and efficient manner. This involves utilizing GPS systems, maps, or other navigation tools to minimize travel time in addition to determining the safest and most efficient route.
Always perform the required pre, and/or post before, during, and after your respective trip/tour. This is not negotiable, as it is a DOT safety requirement to ensure that the vehicle is always in proper working order and meeting safety requirements. This may involve checking the vehicle's fluid levels, brakes, lights, tires, and other mechanical components.
Providing excellent customer service by being courteous, professional, and assisting passengers with any needs or questions they may have during the respective trip. Chauffeurs should also assist with passenger luggage, It is extremely important to ensure passenger safety always, and to maintain a clean interior environment.
Adhering to all applicable driving regulations, including traffic laws, hours-of-service requirements, and company policies. They must also maintain accurate records of their driving activities, such as Electronic Log Device (ELD) or manual logbooks, fuel receipts, or any other required documentation.
Effectively communicating with dispatchers, passengers, or other team members to relay relevant information, address concerns, or coordinate schedules.
Quick thinking and adapting to various situations, such as traffic congestion, road closures, or unexpected passenger requests. This may involve finding alternative routes, adjusting schedules, or accommodating passengers' needs within the limits of company policies.
Prioritizing the safety of passengers, pedestrians, and other drivers on the road by practicing defensive driving techniques and maintaining a responsible and alert mindset.
Other responsibilities and duties may be required based on the specific trip demands, i.e., chauffeuring VIP’s, Super VIP’s, airport (tarmac) shuttles, etc.
