Public Health Educator 1

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in health education or closely related field; supplemented by one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving community health education, training and educational equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge and skills.
Substitution of Experience for Education:
Qualifying full-time professional experience in health education may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.
Summary of Duties:
* Plans and coordinates educational programs on health-related topics, targeting specific audiences with information on risks and healthy lifestyle practices.
* Leads and participates in educational activities such as seminars, exhibits, and individual counseling to enhance public knowledge on health and safety issues.
* Acts as a liaison with the media, preparing and distributing news releases and public announcements to promote health awareness.
* Identify and secure funding sources to support health education initiatives, utilizing grants for program enhancement and community outreach.
* Organize and conduct emergency drills in clinic, evaluating and reporting to the outcomes to ensure effective response strategies.
* Gather and analyze program evaluations to refine and improve health education services based on participant feedback and outcomes.
* Maintains and distributes a wide range of educational materials ensuring resources are current and accessible to the community and professionals.
* Utilizes technology for data management , creating presentations and educational content, and performing routine maintenance of office equipment to support operations.
* Engages in continuous learning and maintains knowledge of current public health issues, trends, and educational methods to deliver effective programs.
* Build and sustains cooperative relationships with local, state, and regional health departments, community organizations, and the public to address health needs and foster coalition building for public health initiatives.
Compensation Information:
This position is a 37.5 hour weekly full-time position.
Minimum Annual Salary: $ 42,504.00
Minimum Monthly Salary: $ 3,542.00
Minimum Hourly Salary: $ 21.79
