Job Description

Position Title: IT Test Engineer

Location: Ashburn, VA

Maintains and executes regression test procedures that are both manual and automated. Maintains and executes performance, stability, and stress test procedure. Identifies and verifies defects to the System. Prepares data for the system testing. Associates degree and three 3 years of experience are required. In addition, requires skills and experience with Windows and MAC operating systems, configuration, Microsoft 365 environment, and security compliance. One individual serves as the test or Technical Lead for the contracting team on FSD side, providing technical guidance for the team.

Position Description:

Indev is seeking a Test Engineer to join our elite team who will be responsible for evaluating software, hardware, or systems to ensure they meet quality and performance standards before deployment. As a Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role with the modernization of a portfolio of applications. Your experience and expertise will be crucial with validating the functions and features of a secure system, all while embracing the Agile mindset to foster innovation and rapid adaptation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning & Strategy – Defines testing objectives, scope, and approach based on requirements.
  • Test Case Development – Designs test cases and test scripts for functional, performance, security, and regression testing.
  • Test Execution – Conducts manual and automated tests to validate system behavior.
  • Bug Identification & Reporting – Identifies defects, logs them in tracking tools (like JIRA, Azure DevOps), and collaborates with developers to resolve them.
  • Automation Development – Writes test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, or TestNG to automate repetitive tests.
  • Performance Testing – Assesses application responsiveness under load using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
  • Security & Compliance Testing – Ensures applications meet security and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Integration (CI) & Deployment (CD) – Integrates testing into DevOps pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support – Assists business users in validating system functionality against business needs.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Provides detailed test reports, metrics, and quality assessments to stakeholders.
  • Participate in sprint planning and backlog grooming.
  • Continuously test features as they are developed
  • Ensure high test coverage in automated pipelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 5+ years of functional experience
  • 3+ years' experience with software testing
  • Proficient experience in manual testing, including test case creation, execution, and defect logging. Types of testing should include: functional, regression, smoke, integration, performance, load, and stress.
  • Skilled with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress)
  • Prior experience using defect tracking tools like (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Previous work completed in an Agile/Scrum setting
  • Prior experience working with PowerApps and Azure Cloud environments
  • Superb problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills to work seamlessly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • CBP Clearance

Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to maintain a U.S. Federal government client badge.
