Job Description

Solomon Page is partnering with a client in Altana to find a Staff Accountant. This position is high-impact and highly visible within the company’s corporate team. The role is part of a small finance team that handles critical day-to-day accounting tasks, focusing on accounts payable and cash management. The accounting software utilized includes Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, among other applications and spreadsheets. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in various areas of accounting and take ownership of accounting processes while being involved in decision-making. We are looking for a self-starter, critical thinker, and problem solver to join our growing company and become a part of a high-performing accounting team.

• Salary: $75,000 to $80,000, plus a 10% bonus.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Handle daily bank transactions and ensure accurate and timely data entry into our system.
• Process assigned sales invoices and ensure timely submission to customers.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts (vendors/customers).
• Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations and resolve issues promptly.
• Collaborate with HR to process payroll using the payroll processing system (Rippling).
• Generate timely reports in Rippling to prepare journal entries for payroll recording in the accounting system.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support the Accounting and Leadership teams with financial and management reports.
• Participate in audits and the tax preparation process, including research and analysis of expense variances.
• Help document accounting processes and implement internal control procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 2+ years of experience in an accounting function.
• Advanced Excel knowledge and proficiency with Outlook, Word, and SharePoint.
• Aptitude for mastering new computer applications.
• Proven attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Organized and autonomous.
• Ability to take ownership of issues and apply creative solutions.
• Capacity to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Initiative and willingness to assist where needed.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Experience working for a company in professional services, technology, or a similar field.
• Experience with Dynamics Business Central is strongly desired.
• Experience with Kantata (Mavenlink) Software.
• Experience with Rippling (People Center) HRIS.
