Job Description

Job Overview:

The Supervising Psychologist is responsible for providing psychotherapy services directly to the patient utilizing both in-person and telehealth formats. Therapy services are to be provided to the lifespan including adults, adolescents, and children within the context of our traditional outpatient program and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in close collaboration with our clinical team. The Supervising Psychologist will also support Center for Anxiety (CFA) trainees by providing direct weekly clinical supervision to 2-4 trainees which may include Doctoral Interns or Postdoctoral Fellows as well as contributing to our Didactics teaching program.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24 hours of evidence-based psychotherapy per week to adults, adolescents and children. This may include direct psychotherapy services, intakes, group therapy sessions and consultation.
  • Participate in leading group therapy sessions including our Intensive Outpatient Program settings and leading weekly DBT Skills groups.
  • Complete documentation of patient sessions in a timely manner using CFA’s Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software.
  • Maintain your personal calendar on CFA’s EMR system, including patient appointments, scheduled meetings, time off and location updates according to company policy.
  • Participate in weekly meetings including Weekly Rounds meetings, DBT Consult, and supervision (if applicable).
  • Collaborate with group co-leaders to plan upcoming sessions, document session notes, and communicate with participants in a timely and effective manner. 
  • Provide weekly clinical supervision for 2-4 trainees which may include Doctoral Interns or Postdoctoral Fellows.
  • Play a broader role in our APPIC approved Doctoral Psychology internship program by teaching didactics sessions and providing regular feedback to trainees.

Qualifications:

  • A current license in Psychology in the state of the office for which you work; New York, Massachusetts, or New Jersey.
  • Significant clinical training and experience in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to adults, adolescents and children.
  • A willingness and capacity to handle high risk cases on an Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient basis. 
  • Dedication to provide the highest standard of evidence-based treatment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful and challenging situations, and manage them with professionalism and empathy.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively engage trainees
