DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM SUMMARY

KAZU's Traffic Coordinator manages all aspects of the station's traffic, from scheduling, contract creation, assigning copy to managing the logs, and ensuring it is error free. The person in this role must effectively handle the logs, maximize station inventory and work with the underwriting sales team to ensure accuracy and maximum revenue generation.
POSITION SUMMARY
Work with KAZU's production, operations, underwriting sales and business departments. Maintain underwriting traffic and daily on-air logs, as well as monthly invoicing. Enter underwriting contracts and information into Allegiance traffic management system. Work with the business office and underwriting sales staff to prepare and maintain underwriting accounts receivable and monthly billing. Provide administrative support to the underwriting sales manager and other underwriting representatives. Coordinate all trade documents and work with other departments to execute trade processes. This position has no direct reports.

Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include. but are not limited to. the following:
  • Enter orders on behalf of the underwriting sales team.
  • Maintain underwriting traffic and daily on-air logs: enter and revise on-air copy in compliance with FCC and NPR guidelines, process orders daily, schedule contracts, edit and reconcile previous day logs.
  • Effectively manage the available inventory to minimize wasted announcements and maximize station revenue.
  • Perform adjustments and reconciliation of vendor accounts, as needed.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with other teams on underwriting schedule optimization. Run reports to ensure the best underwriting placement and to avert lost revenue.
  • Produce a variety of reports from the Allegiance traffic management platform.
  • Develop and maintain traffic management guidelines' documentation.
  • Serve as the point of contact for questions about underwriting submissions, final billing, Allegiance traffic management system use and administration.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Computer proficiency in a Windows environment.
  • Prior experience in broadcast traffic operations.
  • Knowledge of Allegiance management traffic software is a plus.
  • Public broadcasting experience and copywriting experience preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an office environment and excellent computer and customer service skills. Bachelor's degree in business-related discipline or equivalent work experience.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

The hourly hiring range for this position is $28 - $34. Classification: Grade 6, Staff. This is a non-exempt position and as such is eligible for the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
