Job Description

Position: Water Restoration Technician

Location: Portland | Full-Time

We’re partnering with a reputable restoration contractor looking to add a Water Restoration Technician to their growing team. This hands-on role involves responding to residential and commercial water, mold, and fire damage emergencies, providing both mitigation and cleanup services with professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to service calls and perform water, mold, and fire damage mitigation and restoration
  • Set up and monitor drying equipment and containment zones
  • Perform demolition and removal of affected materials including drywall, cabinetry, and flooring
  • Handle site cleanup and light construction tasks as part of the restoration process
  • Accurately document work performed using restoration software (e.g., Moisture Mapper)
  • Maintain a well-stocked and organized service vehicle and warehouse space
  • Interact with clients on-site, providing clear communication and empathy during stressful situations
  • Deliver daily updates to supervisors and ensure all job paperwork is completed and returned
  • Support general shop duties and maintenance tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to lift 50–75 lbs and handle physically demanding work
  • Clean and valid driver’s license required
  • Comfort using digital tools to document work and track job progress
  • Ability to follow instructions, adhere to safety standards, and work independently or as part of a team
  • Previous experience in restoration (water, fire, mold) is highly preferred
  • IICRC certification is a plus but not required—willingness to pursue certification is encouraged
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining a positive, professional demeanor on-site
