Job Description

Location: Remote, DC Posted: 06/12/2024 The ideal candidate will support business analysis and data analysis that will be used to develop a strategic plan for the development and enhancements of the external website. Responsibilities

In depth experience with Web development and knowledge/hands-on experience with Django, including Django models, views, templates, and the Django ORM (object-Relational Mapping)
Expertise in using Wagtail CMS for content management and development of dynamic web applications.
Strong proficiency in Python programming language, with a focus on building scalable and maintainable web applications.
Ability to develop and integrate Web Service APIs; RESTful APIS (Django REST framework)
Ability to work with front end frameworks/libraries like React, Vue.js, or Angular
Work with databases, particularly Django-supported databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite, as well as Oracle DB.
Experience with DevOps practices and deployment tools for hosting Django applications in production environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure)
Ability to follow web application security best practices and experience implementing security measures in Django applications.
Ability to optimize the performance of web applications through techniques such as caching, code optimization, and database tuning.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, other developers, and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Experience/Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is typically preferred.
5-8 years of experience as a web programmer, web developer, or other relevant role; a significant portion of that time dedicated to Python and Django development.
Experience with Web application technologies, such as HTML5, JavaScript or CSS, Python, Wagtail
Familiarity with JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks
Experience with Wagtail templating; understand how to create and customize templates
Experience with Wagtail content modeling system; administration, hooks and signals, version control Tools/Technology Experience
Experience with Wagtail (required)
Experience with Python programming language (required)
Experience with Django (required)
