Overview: Do you want to start a career in the Addiction & Recovery field? The Recovery Village in Umatilla is seeking candidates for our entry-level Behavioral Health Technician 1 position! Great opportunity for students studying addiction medicine or mental health counseling to get work experience in the field! Full Time and PRN positions available for the NIGHT SHIFT! Night shift differential! 12-hour shifts 7:00 to 7:00 (am and pm) Pay begins at $16 per hour and goes up commensurate with experience Eligibility for promotion and pay increase after training program! Openings available for BHT candidates with previous experience as well! ( Min 2 years with HS Diploma, 1 year with degree) The Recovery Village/Advanced Recovery Systems is an integrated behavioral healthcare management company dedicated to the treatment of addiction, substance abuse, eating disorders and mental health issues. Responsibilities: The Behavioral Health Technician 1 is responsible for the observation and monitoring of patients in treatment and reporting duties as indicated. The Behavioral Health Technician I has basic knowledge of substance abuse and/or mental health treatment and will assist patients in a variety of patient activities to include gaining group process skills and assisting patient to gain insight. Core Job Duties: Demonstrate ability to perform the following competencies: Vitals Urine Analysis Collection Point of Care UDS Intoximeter/Breathalyzer Property Search Pulse Oximeter Client Photographs (external camera and uploading into EMR) Handling Biohazard Waste Handwashing Be sure that patient assignments and responsibilities are understood and in progress Observe and document the patients progress accurately Assist patients in gaining group process skills Address problem behaviors Create atmosphere in which self-disclosure is encouraged Adhere to time schedules Assist patients gain insight into problems Give patient a clear picture of where she stands with regard to progress toward recovery Enforce program rules and regulations in a firm but fair manner Confront counter-productive behavior appropriately Bond with patients and elicit respect Adapt to different types of patients Assist nurses in taking vital signs & document in patients record. Notify nurse of any abnormalities Assist patient in managing outside stressors (legal, financial, vocational, etc.) according to the best interests of the patients progress in recovery as directed Other duties as assigned Qualifications:

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or equivalent is REQUIRED. Preferred enrolled in college or training for nursing, social work, psychology, or a related degree Good driving record that meets safety and company insurance standards REQUIRED CPR Certification Standard First Aid Certification Agency Affiliation Counselor license (WA state only), CNA, MA, or Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) or in process of obtaining preferred We offer great benefits including 401(k), paid time off plan, medical, dental, vision, and much more.
