The type of work in which concrete finisher will engage is non-agricultural. T & R Contracting, Inc. is involved in commercial, residential, and cooperative construction work. The workers will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Using various hand and power tools, the workers will smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs. They will align forms for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, patch voids, and use saws to cut expansion joints. Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they have concrete and know that they are correctly constructed. Set Forms to desired concrete to the desired pitch and depth for alignment. Spread, level, and smooth concrete using rakes, shovels, hands, power trowels, power screeds, and floats. They will monitor how the wind, heat, and cold affect the concrete cures throughout the entire process. Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straight edges. Workers must be able to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 lbs.
No diploma or degree is required and workers must have at least three months of experience in concrete finishing. Workers are needed to begin work from 04/01/2023 through 11/18/2023.

Overtime may be available but not guaranteed.
Employer will offer 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm; depending on weather conditions, work on Saturdays may be required.
The employer will provide on-the-job training to use equipment properly and safety techniques.
The employer will assist the workers with housing accommodations by helping them contact local rental agencies.
The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid weekly by Direct Deposit. The employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $14.00 p/day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 p/day with receipts.
