Job Description

Furniture Enterprises of Alaska’s Administration Team provides excellent support company wide. This position is part of a highly motivated team working in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR operations and be able to provide support in all areas of HR.

Furniture Enterprises of Alaska, INC. is the largest locally owned furniture retailer that has been supporting Alaskan communities for over 50 years. Our stores include Sadler’s, Ashley, La-Z-Boy. Williams and Kay, The Ultimate Mattress Store, and Mattress Firm.

Details:

  • Full Time, Monday-Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and interviewing candidates
  • Administer employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related issues
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Conduct new employee orientations and onboarding activities
  • Maintain and update employee handbook as needed
  • Assist in the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
  • Coordinate employee training and development programs
  • Stay up to date with HR trends and best practices

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in HR operations
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • interpersonal skills, ability to work with all levels of employees (Hourly to Executive level)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (ADP)
  • Some travel between stores is required.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol testing and background check.
