Job Summary
The Medical Education Manager will be responsible for the development of internal Sales Training and external Medical Education. This includes becoming a subject matter expert in SpectraWAVE’s technologies and conveying knowledge via structured programs to internal sales and sales support personnel for onboarding and continuing education programs. The Medical Education Manager will also lead the development of any external medical education to address the clinical and technical educational needs of customers. This may be done unilaterally or with an industry partner. Collaborative work with Sales, Marketing, HR, Regulatory, Quality, Clinical Affairs, and SpectraWAVE customers is essential to deliver effective training and education programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Development and implementation of internal new hire and continuing education training programs.
• Development of external Medical Education programs and content.
• Leads In-House Sales Training programs for new hires and continuing education.
• Support tradeshows and conferences as needed with content creation, internal training, and/or customer training.
• Develops and manages a training and education curriculum budget with support from the Head of Marketing.
• Creates, implements and maintains sales training tools, processes and records.
• Creates, implements and maintains SOPs related to medical education programs.
• Conducts appropriate evaluation of sales training programs and materials related to performance, budget, processes, overall effectiveness and impact on team; incorporates conclusions from analyses into design and implementation of programs as needed.
• Identify, evaluate and manage vendors as needed to support training and education.
• Establish goals and learning objectives, in conjunction with sales and marketing leadership, to design appropriate and effective curricula, utilizing principles of adult learning.
• Leverage technology to promote cost effective remote training and education.
• Aid in cross functional training to other functional areas such as Marketing, Clinical, R&D and other SpectraWAVE employees.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• 4+ years of Education, Training, Marketing, or similar experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry
• Experience in curriculum development, as well as various training methodologies to ensure effective delivery of material in an adult learning environment.
• Knowledge of sales training tools and technique.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interest and enthusiasm for education, and implementation of educational programs.
• Communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Computer skills competency including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to track and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Comfort interacting with physicians and key opinion leaders, and working in clinical care settings.
• Results oriented.
• Travel up to 30%.

• Experience developing educational strategy in addition to implementation.
• Comfort with medical imaging or diagnostic tools.
• Clinical specialist or healthcare sales experience.
• Medical degree, experience, or certification.
• Cath lab experience and/or knowledge.
