Requirements Research Associate - Department of Psychology - Georgetown University College of Arts & Sciences Job Overview This opportunity for a
Research Associate is ideal for candidates who are planning to attend graduate school and are looking for 1-2 years of hands-on research experience beforehand.
The Research Associate contributes to the design and implementation of research studies with human participants, including behavioral, fMRI, psychophysiological and eye-tracking data collection - as well as data collection and preliminary data analysis. provides research support to the Principal Investigator (PI), Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF), and graduate students in the Mathematical Brain Lab.
In the performance of their duties, they receive opportunities for
- Development of research skills, for becoming directly involved with multiple forms of research, and - circumstances permitting - for presenting ongoing work at scientific conferences, and
- Development of technical skills - computing, statistical and neuroimaging
As well, successful completion of the above duties is likely to lead to opportunities to receive authorship on academic publications.
Work Interactions Ultimately reporting to the PI, the
Research Associate receives additional oversight by and works closely with the Post Doctoral Fellow, and may regularly work with other members of the lab, including the lab PI, PhD students, and the Lab Manager.
As well, they have ample opportunities to engage in intellectual and community building events - both in the lab and the Psychology Department as a whole.

Requirements and Qualifications - Bachelor's degree
- Research experience in psychology, neuroscience, or a related area
- Experience with experimental design of behavioral and/or fMRI data collection with human participants
Preferred Qualifications Experience with fMRI and/or eye tracking
Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$17.41 - $26.03
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
