Position Summary: Researches and writes, under limited supervision, publications on corporate governance and related topics for The Conference Boards ESG Center, which draw upon the empirical research capabilities of the organization and its convenings of Members and experts, to produce relevant, timely, and unique Insights for Whats Ahead(tm). Partners with other researchers, programmers, and member engagement team members within the ESG Center, shares corporate governance expertise within The Conference Board, provides expert advice and customized briefings for ESG Center Members, and engages with media and broader public audiences on areas of expertise. Accountabilities: Creates corporate governance Insights for Whats Ahead(tm) applicable for C-Suites and Boards of Directors on key corporate governance issues. Assumes direct responsibility for each phase of a project (design, execution, and writing), with limited supervision. Participates in, and supports, and prepares summaries of working groups, roundtables, and other convenings of the ESG Center relating to corporate governance. Produces a wide range of publications, including reports, briefs, thought leadership essays, Quick Takes, as well as contributing to ESG Alerts and newsletters. Remains apprised of the most current developments in the areas of expertise and shares those developments within the ESG Center and The Conference Board, helping to shape the ESG Centers publication and programming initiatives. Conducts literature searches, data-gathering activities (e.g. interviews, focus groups and survey instruments), and data analysis, using appropriate quantitative or qualitative techniques. Draws objective findings and conclusions within the limits of the research design. Shares expertise with members of The Conference Board and The Conference Board ESG Center, by participating in the presentation of research findings to business audiences through in-person and virtual briefings and webcasts. Collaborates with the editorial and production department in the timely production of research manuscripts and related deliverables. Collaborates with the communications department in designing and executing communication plans for research projects in development. Provides customized expert briefings for Members and advice in response to requests from executives. Serves as a spokesperson for the media and represents the ESG Center with business and public audiences at Conference Board and third-party events. Responsible for being a champion of our five core values: Relevance, Openness, Innovation, Integrity, and Collaboration Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: A graduate degree in law, finance, business administration, or related area. Minimum 10+ years of post-college experience required, with substantial knowledge of corporate governance. A track record of publications in corporate governance is necessary. The position requires strong analytical, writing, and editorial skills as well as the ability to interact effectively with business leaders and senior professionals.
