CITY POST CHOPHOUSE - SOMMELIER
City Post Chophouse seeks an experienced wine professional to join the management team of our one-of-a-kind steakhouse, bar, and event space in the heart of historic Georgetown, Texas. Candidates will have experience in fine dining, a can-do attitude, team spirit, and a friendly personality. This is a unique opportunity to develop a top-notch wine program that includes growing our current wine menu featuring a wide variety of global wines both well-known and upcoming/unique selections, becoming a Central Texas wine destination, and crafting an elevated wine cellar experience and special events for our members and guests.
The Sommelier will be focused on further elevating the City Post guest experience. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the entire wine program including audits, maintaining wine inventory, vendor relationships, guest tastings, and special events. They will also work closely with members of the leadership team and will help educate and train staff to increase wine knowledge and sales.
Restaurant Description
City Post Chophouse is an upscale restaurant in downtown Georgetown, Texas. Located in the historic post office, City Post offers guests a variety of experiences, including a full-service bar and oyster bar, along with lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch service, as well as private and semi-private dining options for larger groups. Led by General Manager/Executive Chef Adrian Corkill, City Post provides a finer dining experience in a “Texas-formal” environment. All staff are empowered to provide the best experience possible to every guest.
Salary Range

Job Summary
The City Post Sommelier will have a unique opportunity to take our currently small but well-curated wine list to the next level, and quite literally build our wine program from the ground up.
The City Post Sommelier must possess extensive knowledge of wines, vineyards, and the winemaking process, and will assist guests with wine selections in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction.

Willing to be a team player and assist colleagues with duties as needed. Ability to understand and communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to recognize, remember, and personally greet City Post Members. Ability to remember, recite, and promote key menu items and features. Ability to move throughout a crowded room to greet and/or assist guests. Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with guests and associates.
