Job Description

Ultrasound Technician  

Role Summary  

Our client is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to join their team. The Ultrasound Technician will coordinate the daily patient schedule for the department, perform ultrasound studies, and ensure correct processing and handling of patients. The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years of experience working in a hospital and has strong communication skills.  

Key Results Area  

  • Performs ultrasound examinations by established protocols  

  • Assists and instructs patients before and during examinations  

  • Responsible for evaluating each study to ensure it meets required quality standards  

  • Inspect and cleaning equipment before use  

  • Report all equipment failures and malfunctions to supervisor  

  • Ensure all patient complaints, discrepancies, and drug reactions are reported according to the Quality Assurance policies  

  • Process images, organize paperwork, and complete charge sheets for patients  

  • All other duties as assigned  

Skills & Qualifications  

  • Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in all age groups  

  • RDMS/ARRT is required  

  • Must have vascular experience as well as OB and PEDS experience  

  • Capable of assisting in moving and transferring patients and ultrasound equipment  

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented  

  • In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology  

  • Familiarity with medical terminology for effective communication  

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop during the duration of the shift  

Schedule: Wed, Thurs, Fri, and every other weekend from 1500-2330 hours. (40 hours 1 week, then 24 hours the next)
