Within HDR, our Water Business Group (WBG) stands out as a leader in providing comprehensive solutions for water-related challenges. For decades, we have been at the forefront of delivering water, wastewater, and water resources planning and design services in the North Texas/Oklahoma area, and we are now expanding our services in East Texas with a new office opening in Tyler. Our expertise spans process studies, master planning, asset management, treatment facility planning and design, pipeline and pumping station planning and design, as well as engineering services during construction and start-up / commissioning support.

Primary Responsibilities Are you ready to advance your career? HDR is offering a unique opportunity for a driven Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our team in Tyler, Texas. As a key member of the North Texas Water Business Group, you'll lead projects across East Texas, support our North Texas offices on key projects, and hone your project management skills while contributing to our dynamic team.
In the role of Waste/Wastewater Project Manager, we'll count on you to:
- Plan, direct, and monitor water/wastewater projects with technical complexity.
- Lead teams to produce detailed project plans and deliverables.
- Establish client relations, negotiate contracts, and prepare proposals.
- Coordinate multiple projects concurrently within budget and schedule.
- Conduct project development sessions with clients and internal teams.
- Implement QA/QC procedures and execute personnel training.
- Establish and cultivate client relationships, identifying and supporting the pursuit of new business opportunities.
- Frequent travel between Dallas and Tyler as well as attending client and industry events.
- Attend conferences as needed and represent HDR as the subject matter expert.
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree
- PMP certification
- Design and construction phase experience.
- Preference given to local candidates (Tyler, TX).
- PE License in the State of Texas preferred. If PE License is in another state, the expectation is to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
- Strong technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Qualifications Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 7 years related experience
- A minimum 2 years project management experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus)
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
